Fruit and vegetable exports top US$2 billion, up 22% in four months

VOV.VN - Fruit and vegetable exports exceeded US$2 billion during the four-month period, up 22% year on year, continuing to be a bright spot in Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery exports, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

In the first quarter of 2026, fruit and vegetable export turnover reached about US$1.53 billion, up 31.4% year on year. In March alone, exports hit US$532.21 million, up from the previous month and maintaining double-digit growth year on year.

The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association said that throughout the reviewed period, the sector’s exports neared US$2.06 billion, up 22% year on year.

China remained the largest market for Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports, accounting for 54% of total export value and recording growth of 76.2%. It was followed by the United States and the Republic of Korea, with growth of 21.4% and 4.1%, respectively.

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports to Japan reached a record US$237.8 million in 2025, up nearly 18% from a year earlier, with chrysanthemums, bananas and sweet potatoes accounting for almost half of the total value.
