Investors from China, Hong Kong and the United States have joined hands with the ATS Investment Joint Stock Company to build a spiritual tourism complex in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
Under a contract signed with the local company in Hanoi, the foreign firms will pour a combined US$500 million into the religious project in Yen Tu, a famous beauty spot in Uong Bi township, and several other projects the ATS is carrying out.
The 700-hectare complex, to be named Sen Viet, has a unique architecture, incorporating the national traditional culture and the fine values of Vietnamese Buddhism. It will include an international conference centre, a market for farm produce, a traditional craft village, a park, a section to display ancient artefacts and a stage for cultural performances.
The US$136.8 million- project is expected to be completed by 2015.
