Exports to Laos reach US$287 mln in 8 months
(VOV) - Vietnam’s exports to Laos surged 2.97% on-year to US$287.39 million for the first eight months of this year, according to Vietnam Customs Statistics.
The slight increase was attributed to decreases in export turnover of some key exports like steel down 1.81%, petrol (21.56%), fertilizer (17.95%), and electric wires (58.22%).
Only baskets of goods like machines and equipment, steel products, and ceramics enjoyed export growths of 30.12%, 16.81% and 30.02%, respectively.
In the eight-month period, Vietnam’s total export turnover grew 39% on-year to US$ 43.3 billion.
