EU to impose temporary anti-dumping measures on Vietnamese steel

VOV.VN - The European Commission (EC) has issued a notice to apply temporary anti-dumping measures on certain hot-rolled steel products imported from Egypt, Japan, and Vietnam into the EU market, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

The probe was initiated on August 8, 2024 on the request of the European Steel Association.

According to the TRAV, the anti-dumping investigation period was from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, while the injury investigation period was from January 1, 2021, to March 31, 2024.

Based on the data compiled by enterprises and the implementation of adjustments in line with regulations, the EC has concluded that the preliminary dumping margin for Vietnamese enterprises is from 0% to 12.1%.

In line with the conclusion, the EU's hot-rolled steel coil manufacturing industry has suffered significant injury in terms of market share, price impact, profits, investment, and employment.

TRAV recommends that the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) and local enterprises carefully examine all attached documents, continue to fully cooperate with the EC during the investigation process, and regularly work alongside authorities to receive timely support.
