Efforts made to help Vietnamese farm produce approach foreign distribution systems

The Hanoi Centre for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) and AEON Vietnam have coordinated to organise two big agricultural trade fairs in December with the aim to help farm produce businesses approach distribution systems abroad.

Joining the fairs, farmers and businesses have chances to introduce their products to consumers, and at the same time work with the purchasing unit of Japan’s AEON Group to discuss possibilities for becoming a supplier of the group.

General Director of AEON Mall Vietnam, Nakagawa Tetsuyuki, said that businesses will be provided with information on how to introduce their products, and regulations on goods quality standards for suppliers. To date, AEON Group has exported many products, especially Vietnamese fruits, to its retail system in Japan.

HPA Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Mai Anh said that in 2018, Hanoi and AEON Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation towards the goal of raising the export turnover of Vietnamese goods through AEON Malls to US$1 billion by 2025.

Vietnamese enterprises and production facilities that want to access the modern distribution system of AEON Group with nearly 16,500 centres and stores in such countries as Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, must make thorough preparations from the very beginning.

HPA and AEON Group have regularly exchanged and carried out technical training activities to raise awareness and competitiveness for businesses.
