EBay group has established a partnership with chodientu.vn, a leading online trading centre run by Vietnam’s PeaceSoft company, to promote its e-commerce activities in the country.
Under the bilateral agreement, chodientu.vn will become a co-branded website for eBay and will have advanced functions that allow its users to conduct trade transactions domestically and internationally through eBay’s global network.
The co-brand site will be managed and developed by PeaceSoft staff with consultancy from eBay’s experts.
Once the site officially debuts, Vietnam will be the 40th market where eBay has a local presence.
EBay and chodientu.vn will share revenues from their joint venture.
Vietnam currently has 18 million internet users, accounting for 21percent of the country’s population. IDC company predicts Vietnamese e-commerce will enjoy an annual growth of 44 percent from now until 2010.
