Domestic gold prices dropped slightly on June 10 when the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) traded gold at US$893.4/oz, down US$9.6/oz from June 9.

By 10am on Monday (local time) in the Asian market, the price of gold came down to US$889/oz. At the same time, Sai Gon Jewelry Company (SJC)’s gold was sold at VND18.35-18.48 million/tael, down more than VND200,000/tael. Bao Tin Minh Chau Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company fixed the selling price at VND18.5 million/tael, down over VND200,000/tael.


On the afternoon of June 10, the world gold price was at US$883/oz, down US$10/oz. SJC’s gold price also fell slightly to VND18.43 million/tael.

 

Meanwhile, the VND/USD exchange rate in the local market rose by VND10/US$ over the previous day. Vietcombank and Eximbank’s purchasing and selling prices were quoted at VND16,300 against US$1.
