DFB Hanco Nutrition to build factory to spur growth

Dairy company DFB Hanco Nutrition will build a Codex -standard dairy and nutrition food factory that will produce 36,000 tonnes of products year, Pham Thi Kim Oanh, the company chairwoman, told a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on July 21.
The global standard for food was established in 1963 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and WHO to protect consumers.
The plant in Dong Nai province will produce milk powder and fresh milk, yoghurt, food supplements, and cereal for both the domestic and export markets.
The 117,000sq.m plant will cost VND400 billion (US$19.04 million) in the first phase, with construction starting early next year and wrapping up by end 2017.
Oanh said the company averages 13% annual growth now, but the factory would push that up to 30%-40%.
The company plans to export to Asian countries like Laos and Myanmar besides Africa and Europe.
