Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai called on Belgian investors to do business in Vietnam when receiving the President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, Patrick Dewael, in Hanoi on April 15.

Mr Hai stressed that Vietnam’s current process of industrialization and modernization has created a huge demand for transport, electricity, mechanics and metallurgy, which are Belgium’s forte.

He proposed a series of forums in these areas and promised that Vietnam will continue to improve its already investor-friendly business climate.

Deputy PM Hai thanked the Belgian government and people for their official development assistance as well as their support for Vietnam in the recent anti-dumping lawsuit against Vietnamese leather-capped shoes in the EU market.

Mr Dewael said many Belgian investors are ready to cooperate in various areas, especially in infrastructure development.

He praised Vietnam’s achievements in national development, and regional and international integration, and said Belgium is eager to boost cooperation with Vietnam.
