Denmark seeks business and investment opportunities with Vietnam

VOV.VN - A delegation of major Danish companies will accompany Crown Prince Frederik in his forthcoming visit to Vietnam to seek business and investment opportunities with Vietnamese agencies and partners, according to Deputy Director General of the Confederation of Danish Industry, Thomas Bustrup.

During his meeting held with Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Luong Thanh Nghi in Copenhagen on August 9, Bustrup stated that amid both nations sharing many common interests and enjoy increasingly substantive and comprehensive ties Vietnam has emerged as a potential investment destination. Indeed, many Danish businesses are now exploring the possibility of expanding their operations abroad to be active in the Vietnamese market.

He expressed his thanks for and appreciated the level of co-operation and support shown by the Vietnamese Embassy for the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI)’s activities, asking the Embassy to assist with the organization of future visits to Vietnam by Danish enterprises.

In response, Ambassador Nghi hailed the active role and efforts made by the confederation in terms of enhancing the two countries’ economic and investment ties.

The Ambassador informed his host on the embassy's plans to organise a forum on September 5 in Copenhagen, with the event focusing on joint co-operation in digital and green transformation. These are both considered as priority fields that the country is focusing on implementing, with the co-operation and support of many international partners, including Denmark.

He therefore affirmed that the Embassy and domestic agencies will work closely alongside Danish agencies and groups, including DI, to successfully organise the trip to Vietnam by Danish businesses in the company of Crown Prince Frederik ahead in early November.

Discussing specific measures which can enhance the effectiveness of co-operation between the two sides, Ambassador Nghi assured them that the Vietnamese Embassy is prepared to serve as a bridge connecting DI and Danish businesses with the Vietnamese Government and local businesses. This will be done for the benefit, prosperity, and sustainable development of the two countries.

DI is currently representing 19,000 enterprises with more than 575,000 employees across various manufacturing and services fields.
