Danish businesses are willing to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in the areas of their strength, such as wind and renewable energy and clean technologies, attributing this to improvements in investment climate in the country.

This was reflected at a seminar on Vietnam-Denmark economic, investment and trade cooperation hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark on May 11.

The event drew the participation of 50 big Danish companies and groups, importers and exporters, with many of whom have established long-term partnership with Vietnamese businesses in marine shipping, cement production, wind power, clean technologies and environmental management.

Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Van Luu briefed the participants on Vietnam’s socio-economic performance in 2009, and the Vietnamese government’s policies and plans to fulfill socio-economic tasks of 2010 as well as the 2006-2010 plan.

Ambassador Luu asserted the Vietnamese Government’s policies and efforts to unceasingly improve infrastructure, create a sound investment environment, and improve human resources to attract stable and long-term investment in Vietnam.

He also provided the Danish businesses with Vietnam’s economic statistics, prioritized investment fields, its export staples to Denmark, as well as schedules of major trade fairs and tech-marts in Vietnam this year.
