VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang hosted a ceremony on November 25 to unveil its master plan for the 2021 to 2030 period with vision towards 2050, with the ultimate goal of turning the city into an ecological, modern, and smart urban area with sustainable development.

Under the terms of the plan, Da Nang will become one of the major socio-economic centres in the nation and throughout Southeast Asia, as well as becoming a hub for startups and innovation, tourism, trade, finance, logistics, high-tech industry, information technology, and supporting industry by 2030.
Upon addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasised that the master plan will open up fresh opportunities for Da Nang to make breakthroughs in terms of its own socio-economic development.
He affirmed that with its important strategic location at the end of the East-West economic corridor, the city is the gateway to the Pacific Ocean and can conveniently be connected to the economic hubs throughout the region.

With great potential and advantages for fast and sustainable development, the city can act as one of the country’s growth hubs, he noted.
The Deputy PM has asked the local authorities to accelerate administrative reform, as well as to develop e-government and smart cities with priorities given to key projects that have exerted direct impacts on socio-economic development goals.
He underlined the necessity to develop human resources and promote innovation and creativity with a specific focus on industries such as tourism, processing industry, manufacturing, semiconductors, digital human resources, logistics services, and seaports.
As part of this occasion, the city granted investment registration certificates and decided to approve seven investment projects, with a total investment capital of more than VND9.3 trillion.
