Conference introduces Vietnam's investment environment to Guangdong businesses

VOV.VN - A conference introducing Vietnam's investment and business environment and promoting business links between Vietnam and China's Guangdong province was held in Guangzhou on June 16.

The event, jointly organised by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou and the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office as part of the " Go Guangdong, Go Global ” programme,  was attended by government officials, trade promotion organisations and businesses from both sides.

At the opening session, Ma Wenfeng, Director of the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, said the programme was designed to support Guangdong enterprises in expanding international cooperation and strengthening links with the global market.

He noted that Vietnam was selected as the programme's first guest country, showing the importance Guangdong attaches to its relationship with Vietnam and efforts to realize common perceptions reached by the two countries' senior leaders.

Ma said Guangdong has developed major industrial clusters in areas such as smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, new energy, green infrastructure and modern logistics, sectors that complement Vietnam's priorities in industrialisation, digital transformation and green development.

Representatives of the Guangdong Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce also highlighted the potential for cooperation in areas including the digital economy, semiconductors, smart manufacturing, green energy and logistics.

They said trade promotion organisations and business associations in Guangdong will continue working with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou to support business matching, promote investment cooperation, strengthen production and supply-chain linkages, and expand cooperation in high-tech and emerging industries.

During the conference, Vietnamese Commercial Counsellor in Guangzhou Pham Chi Cuong presented an overview of Vietnam-China economic and trade relations, Vietnam's investment climate, investment incentive policies and priority sectors for development.

The presentation attracted strong interest from Guangdong businesses, particularly those operating in high technology, manufacturing, green energy, logistics and supporting industries.

The conference also featured a question-and-answer session with experts in banking, taxation, legal affairs and investment consulting, providing information on issues of concern to businesses interested in investing and operating in Vietnam.

Many Guangdong businesses also held direct exchanges with representatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General and participating Vietnamese companies to explore cooperation and investment opportunities.

The conference helped enhance mutual understanding and strengthen links between business communities in Vietnam and Guangdong, while providing additional impetus for practical, effective and sustainable economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two sides in the time ahead.
