The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has received a certificate of merit for trade promotion from the US Department of Commerce.
The certificate, which honours US businesses’ foreign partners and trade organisations for their achievements in promoting trade and boosting bilateral trade ties, was given to the VCCI on June 17 by Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Promotion and Director General of the US and Foreign Commercial Service, Israel Hernandez.

Mr Hernandez said the VCCI is a pioneer in building business customs in Vietnam, which are commensurate with the global approaches, adding that the VCCI has coordinated with the US Trade Agency in Vietnam to increase import-export revenues between the US and Vietnam.

Over the past two years, the VCCI has joined the US Trade Agency in accelerating import-export activities between the two countries. They have helped Vietnamese businesses attend CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 and other trade exhibitions in the US. The VCCI has helped US businesses access their Vietnamese counterparts through training courses for small and medium-sized Vietnamese businesses./.
