Chilean businesses will invest more in Vietnam in the near future, local media reported.

According to the Chilean Foreign Ministry and the local business daily “Strategy”, for nearly two decades, Chilean businesses have invested nearly US$50 billion in more than 60 countries, mostly focusing on Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Colombia.

However, Chilean companies are planning to expand their business into non-traditional markets, including Central America, Africa, and Asia, the “Strategy” said, adding that Vietnam will be one of the country’s top priorities.

Last year, a delegation of 18 Chilean small-and-medium businesses made a fact-finding visit to Vietnam. They expressed their keen interest in doing business in the country, the paper said.
