Cam Ranh Port handles 3 million tonnes of cargo for first time
VOV.VN - A ceremony to mark the handling of the 3 millionth tonne of cargo passing through Cam Ranh Port was held on October 20, marking the first time that the port has reached the milestone so far.

According to Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company, as of September 30, the port had received 653 arrivals, including 16 international vessels. Cargo throughput reached 3 million tonnes, a 51% increase compared to the same period in 2024, exceeding the full-year target set for 2025.
The port is now aiming to close the year with 3.7 million tonnes handled, representing a projected annual growth of 53%.
Revenue in the first nine months of 2025 rose to VND176 billion, up 36% year-on-year, highlighting strong performance across operations.
At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Thang, general director of Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company called the milestone a significant achievement and a testament to the port’s strategic importance and long-term growth potential.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee reaffirmed the province's support for the port’s expansion. He noted that Cam Ranh Port is projected to handle 4 million tonnes of cargo in 2025, reinforcing its role as the leading seaport in Vietnam’s south-central region.
Local authorities pledged to continue to remove difficulties in investment procedures, land use, and traffic connection so that Cam Ranh Port can develop smoothly, and play an important role in Khanh Hoa's marine economic strategy.
