Businesses urged to drive green, digital transition at Vietbuild Hanoi 2026
VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha called on both domestic and international businesses to actively contribute ideas and provide advisory input to the government on critical national challenges, while addressing an international building materials exhibition in Hanoi on March 26.
Businesses should participate in shaping safe living spaces amid climate change, advancing green and digital transformation, and strengthening the economy’s self-reliance, autonomy, and resilience, Ha said at the opening ceremony of Vietbuild Hanoi 2026.
He outlined out that Vietbuild's journey reflects the strong growth of the construction sector and the broader economy, with this year’s event marking a milestone as it reaches a record scale of more than 2,500 booths from domestic and international exhibitors.
He noted that the exhibition’s theme centering on construction, building materials, transportation, lighting equipment, real estate, industrial machinery and equipment, interior and exterior decoration aligns with the expanded roles and responsibilities of the Ministry of Construction following its restructuring, highlighting the sector’s efforts to fully carry out tasks assigned by the Party and the State.
The Deputy PM also pointed to notable progress in governance, science and technology, and infrastructure development, stressing a shift from purely administrative management toward a more substantive and coordinated approach to driving development.
He proposed developing a set of clear evaluation criteria for each edition, including targets such as the number of contracts signed, partnerships established, and the total value of deals generated.
“Vietbuild should become a trusted brand for the business community—a hub for networking, trade promotion, technology transfer and brand building,” said the Deputy PM.
With over 2,500 booths, the 5-day exhibition attracted a large number of domestic and international businesses from countries including Vietnam, Japan, India, China, France, Italy, the United States, Germany, and the Republic of Korea. Exhibits on display are diverse, ranging from building materials and transportation equipment to interior and exterior furnishings and industrial machinery.
Vietbuild Hanoi 2026 (first edition) is among the most notable events in the construction sector early this year, kicking off the Vietbuild 2026 series. The exhibition continues to serve as a key platform for connecting supply and demand, promoting products, showcasing technological trends, and introducing new solutions in the construction industry, while boosting trade.
This year’s highlights include green and sustainable products and technologies, such as circular and renewable solutions, clean energy, and digital innovations. Many companies have proactively researched the market to present modern, high-quality products that meet the needs of housing and infrastructure development, while aligning with environmental protection and improving quality of life.
