A workshop on potential risks and risk management was held in the city on March 20 to help businesses make strategic plans to minimize the risks.

It attracted 30 Ho Chi Minh City-based business executives who discussed measures to assess and control risks to minimize the adverse effects.

Le Minh Son, director of Potential Management Development Consulting, said risks existed in most business activities and they could damage or disrupt them.

Known-unknown and controllable – uncontrollable risks that businesses face include poor management, low-quality human resources and natural disasters, he said.

Cao Thi Ha Giang, a lawyer from Dong Nai province said that businesses also faced legal risks if they did not understand the law or lack experience in drafting business contracts. She urged them to carefully check partners’ legal status and documenting all agreements related to their business to avoid legal risks. In case of disputes, they should know the limitation period for taking action to protect their interests and mechanisms available to resolve disputes.
