At the launching ceremony, Le Quang Hiep, general director of Bkav Myanmar, said Bkav is impressed with the rapid development of the Myanmar mobile market in recent years. Therefore, the firm decided to introduce its latest smartphone in Myanmar.
Bkav had been working with partners in Myanmar for six months to localize the product, train employees and build a customer care process. Bkav has also opened a branch in Myanmar’s Yangon City.
In addition, three warranty centers and 27 locations receiving warranty requests have been opened across Myanmar.
Nay Soe Win, deputy sales director at Bkav Myanmar, said the phone is water resistant and has an anti-theft function, which helps determine the position of lost phones even if they are factory reset. No smartphone makers, except Bkav, has developed this function for its products.
Bphone 3 and Bphone 3 Pro are on sale at nearly 100 outlets across Myanmar. Customers can purchase a Bphone 3 for 499,000 MMK (US$330.3), while the Bphone 3 Pro version will cost 699,000 MMK.
Myanmar, with a population of nearly 54 million, is an attractive market for Vietnamese enterprises. Vietnamese products are preferred by consumers in Myanmar due to their affordable prices.
Also, the cooperation with Mytel, the third largest mobile carrier in Myanmar, will assist Bkav in distributing products and taking care of customers.
Bphone 3 is considered a high-end smartphone, sold at a competitive price. Customers buying the phone will be provided with services by Mytel, Hiep said.
