Bestway International launches US$300 million plant in Can Tho city
Chinese group Bestway International has launched a US$300 million investment project in Can Tho city, signaling a significant boost in large-scale foreign investment for the Mekong Delta region.
At the official launching ceremony on April 25, Song Qing Shui, Production General Director of Bestway International, said the plant, located in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Can Tho, will span 28.6 ha. Construction of the factory is set to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with completion and full operations expected by the end of 2026.
The factory will be developed as a green, technology-driven complex, featuring integrated research and development (R&D) facilities, smart warehouses, and advanced logistics infrastructure.
Once operational, the plant is projected to create over 5,000 direct jobs and generate approximately US$500 million in annual revenue, primarily through exports. The project is expected to significantly enhance regional employment and economic growth, contributing to Can Tho’s development and the broader Mekong Delta region.
Highlighting the city’s strategic appeal, Song emphasised Can Tho’s central location in the Mekong Delta, its robust multimodal transport network, and an abundant, high-quality workforce. He also lauded the city’s open investment climate, efficient administrative procedures, and proactive support of the local administration.
Vice Chairman of the Can Tho municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thuc Hien reiterated the city’s commitment to creating favourable conditions for investors by improving infrastructure, streamlining processes, and offering ongoing project support.
