Australia poised to become second importer of Vietnam’s low-emission rice
VOV.VN - Nearly 3,000 tonnes of certified low-emission rice are expected to be shipped to Australia in October 2025, making it the second export market for this product after Japan.

Australia is known for its stringent standards on both agricultural quality and environmental sustainability.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the successful export of low-emission rice is the result of a shift in production practices toward sustainable development, more efficient land use, and added value for Vietnamese rice.
After nearly two years of implementation, Vietnam’s low-emission rice has now reached consumers in Japan, and soon in Australia. This marks a major step forward and opens up long-term prospects for Vietnamese rice in the global market.
To date, seven Vietnamese companies have been certified to use the “Green Low-Emission Vietnamese Rice” label under the national program for one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice. These certified producers are expected to deliver more than19,000 tonnes in 2025.
