ASCO to invest US$20mln in aircraft components factory in Da Nang
VOV.VN - Belgian aerospace manufacturer ASCO Industries plans to invest US$20 million in an aircraft components factory in Da Nang, central Vietnam, with the investment potentially rising to US$100 million in the future.
The project was discussed during a recent meeting in Brussels between Nguyen Manh Hung, chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, and Jerome Morhet, CEO of ASCO Industries, held on the sidelines of a high-level roundtable bringing together General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam and leading European businesses.
The talks focused on investment cooperation and opportunities to develop Da Nang’s aerospace industry. City leaders outlined the locality’s advantages and development strategy in high-tech industries, highlighting efforts to attract projects involving advanced technologies, high added value and deeper integration into global supply chains.
Under an agreement signed in July 2026 between ASCO Industries and the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority (DSEZA), the company plans to develop a 6,000-square-metre facility to manufacture aircraft components, with an initial investment of US$20 million. The investment could eventually reach US$100 million as the project expands.
The proposed factory would support Da Nang’s efforts to attract foreign investment in high-tech manufacturing, develop higher-value-added production and strengthen links between local businesses and global industrial supply chains.
Morhet is scheduled to meet with DSEZA in early December 2026 to discuss the project’s implementation. The factory is expected to become operational in 2027.
