(VOV) - On September 1, a delegation of the Party Central Committee, the Presidential Office, the National Assembly, the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee paid their respects to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.

A string of activities has been organised across the country in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). 

An exhibition to showcase the nation's socio-economic achievements, one of the largest celebrations to mark the 70th year since Vietnam gained independence, was opened in Hanoi on August 28.

The High Command of the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) was bestowed the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces in the Reform Period” at a ceremony marking its 17th founding anniversary in Hanoi on August 28. 

The Party and State always bear in mind the great contributions rendered by former revolutionary prisoners to national independence, State President Truong Tan Sang stated while receiving these people in Hanoi on August 27.
