Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented a report on the organisational structure of the Government in the 2016-2021 tenure at the first session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) in Hanoi on July 25.

Tran Dai Quang was re-elected as President of Vietnam for the 2016 – 2021 tenure during a plenum of the 14th National Assembly (NA)’s first session on July 25. 

Most of the National Assembly (NA) deputies at the plenary session on the morning of July 25 agreed that in 2017, the parliament should focus its supervision on pressing issues that are of great interest and have major impact on society and the economy. 

The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee submitted Tran Dai Quang as a candidate for the position of State President for the 2016-2020 term to the NA during the first session of the 14th NA on July 25. 

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has said the NA will continue with strong reforms in both organisation and operation to make its activities more effective and fruitful.

The majority of deputies at the 14th National Assembly have shown their strong confidence in newly-elected NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, who won the July 22 election with nearly 98 percent of votes. 

The third working day in the first session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) on July 22 began with the announcement of the results of the election of the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and the NA Standing Committee members.
