Vietnam facilitates foreign trade activities
VOV.VN - Members of the 14th National Assembly Standing Committee have underlined the need to create favorable conditions for foreign trade activities, thereby helping Vietnam improve its competitiveness in international integration.
They gave opinions on the draft law on foreign trade management at the Committee’s ongoing 3rd session on September 14.
They agreed that foreign trade development policy is an effective tool to build trademarks for Vietnamese products, improve their quality and competitiveness, and boost exports.
National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that, under the 2013 Constitution, only the law can limit the right to freedom of business, but restricting certain imported and exported products means violating this right. So which products are prohibited for imports and exports should be clarified by law in compliance with the Constitution.
“The Constitution stipulates that prohibited products should be stated in law instead of in the government’s documents. If the government creates the list, there may be greater flexibility in foreign trade management but transparency is not guaranteed," the top legislator said.
The Committee also worked on the law on property auction.
