President Quang meets voters in HCM City

VOV.VN -  President Tran Dai Quang has addressed voters in Ho Chi Minh City’s Districts 1, 3, and 4 concerning major agenda of the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly (NA).

At the meeting on October 4, President Quang also answered voters’ queries on the National Assembly’s law building process, the role and responsibility of deputies, and the settlement of corruption cases.

"The right to freedom of association is one of the basic human rights protected by the Constitution. The building of the law on association is to concretize the 2013 Constitution, ensure the people’s right to establish association, uphold the role of association, and increase the State management over association," he said.

The State leader addressed voters’ concerns, including public debts and the appointment and rotation of officials.

Regarding the socio-economic performance in the first nine months of 2016, the State leader stressed that the country is experiencing a recovery and development trend, with low inflation and rising foreign direct investment.

However, Vietnam is facing a number of difficulties, he said, pointing out that two out of the 13 socio-economic goals set for 2016 -GDP growth and exports -are likely to be achievable.

Regarding public debt issue, President Quang noted that the figure rose rapidly from 51.7% of GDP in 2010 to 62.2% in late 2015, posing a pressure of payment on the State. However, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have still excluded Vietnam from countries with heavy burden of debt, he said.

Anti-corruption work has seen positive results and will be drastically carried out in the future, he added.
