PM decides on disciplinary measures against officials

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on August 8 signed decisions on disciplinary actions against high-ranking police officials due to their very serious wrongdoings during their work.

Accordingly, Bui Van Thanh is dismissed from his post as Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Tran Viet Tan is stripped of his title as former Deputy Minister of Public Security for the 2011-2016 tenure. 

Earlier, the Politburo imposed Party discipline against Thanh and Tan at Decisions No.823 QDNS/TW and No.822 QDNS/TW dated July 31, 2018, respectively. 

Also on August 8, the PM signed a document submitted to the President on demoting Tan from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to Lieutenant General, and Thanh from Lieutenant General to Colonel.
