Government leader meets voters in Hai Phong
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with voters and a delegation of National Assembly deputies of Hai Phong city in Cat Hai district on November 30, reviewing the outcomes of the NA’s freshly-concluded 8th session.
Despite facing the impacts of the world’s sluggish economy and trade, and natural disasters and diseases in the country, the nation’s economic growth rate still keeps the momentum, coupled with remarkably improved people’s living standards and the reduced rich and poor gap.
The Vietnamese Government will go ahead with greater efforts to build on the achievements in the time to come, PM Phuc said.
The cabinet leader informed the voters that the Government is destined to develop the Lach Huyen deep-water port and upgrade several major infrastructure projects in the city, adding that he has directed ministries and agencies to coordinate with Hai Phong to help the city make great strides.
It is a great honour for Vietnam to play two important roles in 2020 – Chair of ASEAN and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, he told the voters while emphasizing that the country will do its utmost to fulfill those regional and international responsibilities.
Regarding his viewpoint that Vietnam needs to work harder to become not only an economic but also cultural power, PM Phuc said in the context of comprehensive integration, the preservation of the traditional culture of the nation and of each ethnic group is a task of equal importance with economic development.
He also touched upon solutions to assist the development of the private sector, which he regarded as an important part in national development.
