Vietnamese officials awarded Lao Order

(VOV) - Lao Deputy Prime Minister Thoonglun Sisulit presented the Issara (Freedom) Order commendation to a number of Vietnamese individuals and localities, part of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and the 35th anniversary of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

The honours, presented on December 29, were in recognition of the awardees’ contributions to the tradition of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

Sisulit—who is also Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs—bestowed the first-class Order on the four northern provinces of Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, and Tuyen Quang.

Hoang Binh Quan, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee‘s (CPVCC) Commission for External Relations, received a second-class Order, while the third-class Order went to incumbent and former deputy heads of the Commission.

A number of the Commission’s other individuals and units were also awarded with Friendship Medals and Orders.
