Vietnamese Ambassador to Dominican Republic presents credential

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Nguyen Trung Thanh recently presented his letter of credential to the republic’s President Danilo Medina.

During his visit to the Caribbean country from March 12-15, Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, who is also Vietnam’s Ambassador to Cuba, also had meetings with President of the Senate and the Dominican-Vietnam friendship parliamentarian group.

At the meetings, the two sides exchanged views on regional issues and measures to boost bilateral relations as well as further raise two-way trade.

The Dominican Republic officials expressed their respect for Vietnam’s struggle for independence as well as national construction.

They spoke highly of Vietnam’s role and position in the international arena and affirmed their wish to promote bilateral friendship, cooperation and solidarity with the South East Asian country.

They voiced hope to early open the embassy of the Dominican Republic Embassy in Hanoi to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to access the Dominican market, especially in fields of services and tourism infrastructure.

During his stay, Ambassador Thanh also laid a wreath of flower at President Ho Chi Minh monument in the capital of Santo Domingo.
