Vietnam welcomes RoK investors, says PM
(VOV) - The Government of Vietnam creates the best possible conditions for Republic of Korean businesses to operate efficiently in the country, says PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
Receiving RoK Minister of Strategy and Finance Bahk Jae Wan in Hanoi on January 11, Dung spoke highly of the fine development of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, and noted that the RoK is one of Vietnam’s leading investment and trade partners.
He proposed that both countries’ ministries and agencies boost bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially in economics, trade, investment, education-training, science-technology and culture, striving to balance two-way trade in the coming years.
He also proposed increasing high-level delegation and people-to-people exchanges to accelerate free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations and promote mutual understanding.
Both countries need to work closely together to strengthen labour cooperation and protect their citizens living, working, and studying in their territories, said the PM.
For his part, Minister Bahk briefed his host on the results of his earlier talks with relevant Vietnamese agencies and confirmed that the RoK attaches importance to comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.
Besides economics, investment and trade links, the RoK wants to foster cooperation with Vietnam in mechanical engineering, and coordinate closely with the country to deal with pending issues in labour management, he said.
Earlier the same day, Minister Bahk held talks with Finance Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and signed a cooperative plan for 2013.
