Vietnam, Ukraine work on procuracy

(VOV) - The two sides have agreed to cooperate in the fields of procuracy and court ruling.

A delegation from the Vietnam Supreme People's Procuracy led by General Prosecutor Nguyen Hoa Binh paid a working visit to Ukraine on November 9-13.

During the visit, the delegation held talks with its counterpart from Ukraine’s General Prosecutor Office on procuracy operations over the years and orientations for next year.

The two procuracy agencies of Vietnam and Ukraine agreed to support each other in building legal documents, particularly constitutions, train experts, exchange delegations and share experience in their areas of strength.

They reached a high consensus on joint efforts to protect citizens living in either country.

Binh thanked the Soviet Union for its past assistance and Ukraine for its current cooperation with Vietnam in procuracy personnel training.

He said he hopes that as a member of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) and the International Association of Prosecutors, Ukraine will strongly support Vietnam in joining these organizations.

Ukrainian General Procurator Viktor Pshonka voiced his support for Vietnam’s proposals and pledged to back the country’s bid to participate in procuracy-related organizations.
