Vietnam treasures special ties with Laos

VOV.VN - Vietnam always values the special ties with Laos and stays ready to provide strong support for Laos’ national reform, defence and construction, has said Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Phung Quoc Hien.

At a January 9 reception for head of the Economic, Technology and Environment Committee of the Lao National Assembly Bounpone Sisoulath in Hanoi, Quoc Hien extolled the fruitful cooperation between the Economic, Technology and Environment Committee of the Lao NA and the Economic Committee of the Vietnam NA, adding that the Vietnam NA will work closely with Laos to effectively carry out their cooperation agreement.

He said he hopes the Lao top legislator and a high-ranking delegation will attend the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum from January 17-21 in Hanoi as significant support for Vietnam.

Bounpone Sisoulath told Hien that his visit is designed to learn from Vietnam’s experience in land management and use and the Lao legislature will concentrate on revising the Land Law.

Economic, Technology and Environment Committee and the Economic Committee of the Vietnam NA will continue sharing experience in legislation, he added.

Head of the NA Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh and the Lao official also shared experience in building the 2013 Land Law of Vietnam as well as the new points of the law at their earlier talks on January 8.

Bounpone Sisoulath is currently on a visit to Vietnam from January 8-13.
