Vietnam keen to boost cooperation with Timor Leste

VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu expressed his nation's desire to promote friendship and cooperation with East Timor while receiving Timor Leste's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Hermani Coelho da Silva in Hanoi on April 7.

He asked the Timor Leste government to rapidly finalize all necessary procedures so that a bilateral trade agreement signed by the two countries in 2013 will soon come into force. 

He also called for the stepping up of rice trading cooperation for the 2015-2017 period and the implementation of signed agreements and memorandums of understanding. 

Luu also affirmed the National Assembly's willingness to cooperate with Timor Leste's parliament bilaterally and multilaterally.

Minister Silva in turn hailed Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements suggested the two countries should prioritize cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, energy, and infrastructure.
