Vietnam hands over defence e-portal to Laos

The Vietnamese Defence Ministry handed over a defence e-portal to its Lao counterpart during a ceremony in Vientiane on March 30.

Developed at the request of the Lao Defence Ministry, the e-portal is expected to update Lao officials and people at home and abroad about their latest defence information.

The project is within the framework of a protocol on defence cooperation between the two ministries from 2015-2019.

Director of the Vietnam Defence Ministry’s Information Centre for Military Science Nguyen Kim Lam said the e-portal is completed at a significant time when Lao undertakes the role of ASEAN Chair in 2016.

Viengsay Somvichith, deputy chief of the Lao Defence Ministry’s Department of Military Science and History, pledged to make the best of the e-portal, contributing to disseminating the Party policies and State laws as well as Lao Defence Ministry’s activities.
