Vietnam greatly values relations with China

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh has affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of importance to developing the friendly neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation with China at a reception for newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo in Hanoi on December 27.

Minh applauded the remarkable progress in Vietnam-China ties in recent times and congratulated Xiong on his appointment as the new ambassador to Vietnam. 

He asked Xiong to work hand in hand with Vietnamese agencies to maintain high-level visits and meetings between the two nations, step up practical cooperation in a wide range of fields, intensify people-to-people friendship, well control differences and accelerate the settlement of marine issues.

He expressed his confidence that the Chinese diplomat will uphold his important role and make pragmatic contributions to the friendship and all-around cooperation between the two countries in the time to come.

For his part, Xiong showed his desire to receive support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and localities during his term of office. 

He pledged his best efforts to reinforce the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in line with the interests and development of each nation.
