Vietnam, Belarus sign MoU on public security personnel exchange

Vietnam and Belarus signed a memorandum of understanding on the exchange of public security personnel following the talks between Minister of Public Security To Lam and Chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus Vakulchik Valery Pavlovich in Hanoi on October 21.

At the talks, Lam said the visit by the Chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus will help further strengthen bilateral ties in security and order protection, thereby boosting traditional friendship between Vietnam and Belarus for the benefit of the two peoples.

The Vietnamese side suggested the two sides continue to enhance comprehensive, effective and practical cooperation in diverse areas, including increasing the exchange of information on emerging issues in Asia-Pacific and the world.

Both countries should not let any individual or organisation to use their territories to conduct activities against the other country, Minister To Lam said, calling for stronger partnership to fight organized crimes, cyber criminals, terrorism, human trafficking, new crimes and non-traditional security threats.

Pavlovich, for his part, wished that ties between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the State Security Committee of Belarus will further progress, contributing to maintaining social safety and order as well as national security.
