UAE Embassy in Hanoi celebrates the ‘Year of Zayed’
VOV.VN -The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Hanoi on August 8 celebrated the 'Year of Zayed' 2018, marking 100 years since the birth of the country’s founding father, the late President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the first UAE President since 1971 and he was in power until his death in 2004.
To commemorate the nation’s event of great historical significance, the incumbent President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declared 2018 as the 'Year of Zayed'.
2018 is viewed as a year of achievements, initiatives, events and programmes that feature the great historical personality of the great leader, Sheikh Zayed, highlight his life and career and promote his noble human values.

In his speech, UAE Ambassador Obaid Saeed Bintaresh Al Dhaheri gave a brief introduction of late President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s life, career and contributions to promoting the country’s sound development and prosperity.
When he was alive, Sheikh Zayed always showed his intense interest in developing multiple fields such as health care, education and infrastructure in the hope of bringing about rapid changes to the UAE's social life as a whole.
Regarding the country’s achievements, the Ambassador affirmed that all of the current indicators have indicated his nation’s economic stability and its huge potential for further development, thereby turning the UAE into a major trading center in the region and an international transhipment hub for aviation and navigation services that connect East and West.
The diplomat attributed the above mentioned gains to political stability, security, improved infrastructure, and favorable legal environment, which has helped the UAE to become an attractive destination for businesses, and the second largest economy achieving impressive growth in the Arab world.
The best way for the Year of Zayed celebration is to follow his footsteps and instill his vision, ideas, and core values that are regarded as the light to strive for development and prosperity, and move forward to raise the UAE's standing as one of the most developed nations across the board, the UAE Ambassador said.
A photo exhibition marking the centennial anniversary of the birth of the late UAE founder was also launched on this occasion.
