Top Vietnamese leader expects stronger ties with Thailand

VOV.VN - Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong voiced his hope that the Vietnam-Thailand would be advanced to new heights while receiving Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Prawit Wongsuwan in Hanoi on January 23.

He thanked the Thai government and people for assisting Vietnam during the process of national construction and defence.
In reply, Prawit Wongsuwan, informed Party General Secretary Trong of the outcomes of his talks with Vietnamese Minister of Defence Ngo Xuan Lich, affirming that he wishes to augment cooperation with the Vietnamese army.
He assured his nation’s willingness to closely work with Vietnam in promoting regional peace, stability, and cooperation, as well as effectively carrying out the signed agreements, he said while voicing his strong support for the promotion of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
