State leader welcomes Brunei education minister

Vietnam and Brunei need to broaden cooperation in education and promote all-level delegation exchanges to enhance links in agriculture, energy, investment and trade.

State President Truong Tan Sang was speaking this at a March 19 reception in Hanoi for Brunei Minister of Education cum Chairman of the Investment Agency Haji Apong, who is on a working visit to Vietnam to attend the 47th Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Council Conference.

President Sang pledged to foster all favourable conditions for the Brunei side to go on fact-finding trips to Vietnam cities and provinces.

Haji Apong said his visit aims to realise bilateral commitments reached during Sang’s working visit to Brunei, adding that he hopes the Vietnamese Minister of Education will pay a visit to the country to discuss a cooperation plan.

He affirmed that the outcomes of a survey during the delegation’s visit to Vietnamese cities and provinces will be submitted to relevant agencies and Brunei firms, therefore facilitating trade between the two nations.
