South African Ambassador honoured with friendship insignia

Presenting the insignia to the ambassador at a ceremony in Hanoi on December 1, VUFO’s Vice President and General Secretary Don Tuan Phong said the award aims to acknowledge the diplomat’s contributions to the friendship and cooperation between the people of Vietnam and South Africa as well as other African countries. 

Kgomotso Ruth Magau has worked closely with the VUFO and the Vietnam-Africa Friendship Assocation in people-to-people exchange activities such as the Africa Day and celebrations of the anniversary of the Southern African Development Community. The Ambassador also enthusiastically participated in events held by the VUFO. 

Ambassador Kgomotso Ruth Magau said she was honoured to receive the insignia, the highest decoration of VUFO. 

She expressed the hope that ties between the two countries will continue to expand, and pledged to do her best in any position to contribute to bilateral ties.
