Senior military officer greets US Transportation Command chief

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Vo Van Tuan hosted a reception for visiting General Darren W. McDew, Commander of the US Transportation Command in Hanoi on September 22.

At the reception, the two sides praised the cooperation between the two countries in the field, in line with the 2011 Memorandum of Understanding on Advancing Bilateral Defense Cooperation and the US–Vietnam Joint Vision Statement on Defense Relations signed in 2015.

The two senior officers emphasised the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the US in military transportation.

They voiced the need for further collaboration in the field to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
