Senior leaders praise Bangladeshi PM’s visit
(VOV) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has highlighted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina‘s visit as an important milestone in the traditional friendship and all-round cooperation between the two countries.
At the November 2 meeting with the Bangladeshi PM in Hanoi, Party leader Trong thanked Sheikh Hasina and Bangladeshi people for their warm sentiment and support for Vietnam during its revolution for national independence in the past as well as the present national renewal and construction process.
In praise of the achievements that Bangladesh has recorded, Trong affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and Government always attach great importance to strengthening the relationship with the country.

He agreed with the guest to further promote the cooperation between the two nations in various fields and through all channels in the future.
Sheikh Hasina briefed her host on the outcomes of her talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and affirmed Bangladesh’s determination to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in economics, trade, agriculture, culture and national defense.
She said she hopes that the two sides will promote exchanges between the two parliaments, businesses and peoples, as well as further increase coordination at regional and international forums.
At the reception for the Bangladeshi PM on the same day, President Truong Tan Sang expressed his belief that her visit will lift bilateral ties to a higher level.

Sang said he hopes Bangladesh will soon become a member of the ASEAN while affirming that Vietnam is willing to share its experience in the development and integration process with Bangladesh.
President Sang took the occasion to send his invitation to visit Vietnam to his Bangladeshi counterpart.
For her part, Sheikh Hasina said she is very happy to visit Vietnam, emphasizing that Bangladeshi people always give Vietnam a special position in their hearts.
She said she is impressed by Vietnam’s achievements in its cause of national construction and she hopes the two sides will expand cooperation in all socio-economic fields, including food security.
Hasina also thanked Vietnam for supporting Bangladesh’s bid to join ASEAN and conveyed the Bangladeshi President’s invitation to visit the country to President Sang.
