RoK, Vietnam strengthen science, technology cooperation
(VOV) -The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) represents an appropriate model for Vietnam and will strengthen university and post-graduate educational ties.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said this at a meeting with KIST President Dr. Kil-Choo Moon in Hanoi on October 9.
The Deputy PM thanked the RoK for its support in building the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) based on the KIST model, saying that Vietnam wants to promote strong development in science and technology until 2030 in order to meet increasing demands and benefit the public.
When the VAST project is completed, Vietnam hopes the RoK will help train its officials, he added.
Dr. Moon said that the RoK collected and completed documents for the VAST as soon as Vietnam agreed to cooperate with the KIST in the project’s construction.
He hoped that the project will be finished as quickly as possible and serve as an effective research venue for both local and international scientists.
