PM wants to lift relationship with France

(VOV) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has expressed his hopes to raise Vietnam-France relationship to a new level.

While receiving French Minister of Labor, Employment, Professional Development, and Social Dialogue Michel Sapin in Hanoi on October 26, PM Dung said Vietnam particularly wants to enhance its ties with France especially in economics, trade, investment, education-training, science-technology, national security and defence, and development assistance.

The Government leader thanked France for providing Vietnam with official development assistance and asked the European country to continue supporting Vietnam’s development process.

PM Dung proposed that both sides work closely with each other to plan celebrations for the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic ties in 2013. He also called for effective coordination at international forums.

Sapin, who is attending the fourth ASEM Labour Ministers’ conference, reaffirmed the French Government’s commitment to strengthening ties with Vietnam across various fields.

He said he hopes 2013 will not only mark the anniversary bilateral diplomatic ties but also become an important year of bringing the relationship to new heights.
