At the meeting, which took place within the PM’s official visit to Russia, the PM said the Government and people of Vietnam always keep in mind the sentiment and valuable support of Russian communists and people during their past struggle for national liberation and the current national defence and construction.

Vietnam always wishes to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, he noted.

For his part, G . Zyuganov congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam on the success of the 12th Party Congress where major development orientations were set forth for the country in the time ahead.

He suggested the two Parties share information and experience in the Party work.

The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with representatives of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Association of Russian Former Military Experts during which he reminisced about the sacrifice of many Russian experts, scientists and citizens for Vietnam’s independence.

He briefed the Russian war veterans and experts on achievements Vietnam has attained after 30 years of reform as well as the country’s foreign policy, saying Vietnam attaches importance to developing relations with traditional friends, including Russia.

Heads of the two associations promised to make more contributions to the long-lasting relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
