Party official meets with Far Eastern leaders

VOV.VN - Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh on September 5 had working sessions with leaders in the Russian city of Vladivostok.

Russian leaders were Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, and Governor of the Primorye region Vladimir Miklushevskii.

Binh told his hosts that exports-imports between Vietnam and the Far East are not competing with but supplementing each other, thus facilitating two-way trade.

The Far East’s new investment encouragement policies are also opening up cooperation potential and opportunities in economy, investment and trade between the two sides, he added.

Both sides said they hope the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership will further grow across a variety of fields, especially in the Far East which boasts abundant natural resources and serves as a gateway of Russia to the Asia-Pacific region, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Vietnam.

On this occasion, Binh witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the People’s Committee of northern Hai Phong port city and Primorye region.

As planned, Binh will deliver a welcome speech at the opening of the third Eastern Economic Forum on September 6.

Binh has been in Vladivostok to attend the third Eastern Economic Forum from September 5-8.
