Party leader pushes for stronger Vietnam-Cuba ties
(VOV) - General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong met with Marino Murillo Jorge, Vice President of Cuba’s Council of Ministers, in Hanoi on October 9.
Jorge is currently the head of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Commission responsible for implementing resolutions approved at the CPC’s sixth Congress.
He informed the host of the initial results of bringing the policy of the sixth CPC Congress, and pledged to further strengthen solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples in the coming time.
Trong said Jorge’s visit to Vietnam is a good chance to implement the agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders and boost cooperation between the two Parties and countries.
He said he believes under the sound leadership of the CPC, led by President Raul Castro and leader Fidel Castro, the Cuban people will record greater achievements in their revolutionary cause.
The CPV leader also reiterated Vietnam’s faithful support and solidarity with the CPC and Cuban people.
