Party chief welcomes Greek delegation
VOV.VN - On July 11, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) led by its General Secretary Dimitrios Koutsoumpas.

He underscored the need to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country, and supported the settlement of disputes in the East Sea through peaceful means in line with international law.
Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is keen to further enhance cooperation with the Communist Party of Greece, urging the two sides to further bilateral cooperation.
Dimitrios Koutsoumpas in turn expressed his delight at his first visit to Vietnam and witness the country’s tremendous socio-economic achievements over 30 years of pursuing the “Doi Moi” (renewal) process. He described this as a big support for Greek communists and forces to fight for peace, democracy and socialism around the world.
The KKE places high importance on the time-honoured relations and solidarity with the CPV, and hopes to make greater contributions to propel the bilateral friendship and cooperation forward.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the KEE General Secretary affirmed the significance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each nation, supporting the settlement of any disputes through peaceful methods and in accordance with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The same day, the Greek delegation held talks with the Vietnamese delegation led by Mr Hoang Binh Quan, a member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party External Relations Committee.
