NA leader hosts Hungarian legislative official

VOV.VN - On January 13, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Gergely Gulyas in Hanoi.

The top legislator expected Hungary to early recognize Vietnam’s market economy and create favourable conditions for more Vietnamese goods to enter Hungary's market. She suggested that both sides should increase coordination and mutual support at international forums as well as exchanges of visits.

Vietnam always bears in mind the valuable and efficient assistance given by the Hungarian people and State and closely follows Hungary’s socio-economic development accomplishments and integration into the European Union, Ngan told her guest.

She emphasized that the maintenance of delegations at all levels has created political trust and added fresh impetus to fruitful cooperation, with two-way trade value in 2016 rising 10% from 2015.

The Vietnamese leader thanked Hungary for supporting Vietnam’s candidacy for seats at several UN agencies and affirmed Vietnam’s backing of Hungary’s bid to run for the UN Human Rights Council in the 2017-2019 term.

Ngan noted with joy the outcomes of the talks between the Hungarian Deputy Speaker and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu, including the organisation of seminars aiming to help the two countries’ legislators exchange wide-ranging experience and issues relating to the respective countries’ socio-economic development.

She said she hopes more Hungarian businesses will expand investment in Vietnam while affirming the country will serve as a bridge for Hungary to access the 600-million ASEAN market.

Deputy Speaker Gergely Gulyás in turn stated that his nation always wants to cooperate with Vietnam and regards the Southeast Asian country an important bridge in ASEAN.

Hungary will continue supporting Vietnam at international forums, he said, delivering wishes that the two countries’ legislative bodies and their members will continue strengthening exchanges and sharing experience.
